My work as a Head Start teacher proved that a good children’s picture book can be a powerful learning tool. One well-written book for PreK children can provide a week or more of lesson plans. For instance, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats offers opportunities to discuss cold weather and wintertime, explore making prints with sticks and other natural products, discover that ice melts into water, make snowmen from paper plates or marshmallows, investigate winter clothing in dramatic play, and so on and so on. A well-written children’s story provides endless ideas for learning!
I write books for kids with this in mind. I want to bring fun and engaging stories to PreK children AND make it easier for parents, teachers, and caregivers to discover ideas for teaching and engaging with their children. I think you will find my books very relatable and enjoyable. Happy Reading!
